Section of Jubilee MPs Disown Uhuru-Raila Talks

A section of Jubilee legislators have disagreed with the unity talks between President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga held on March 9.

The lawmakers led by Kapenguria MP Samuel Moroto, cautioned their colleagues that Raila's entry into Jubilee through the dialogue could end up breaking the President Kenyatta-led administration.

Speaking during Chesumei sub-county educational day at Chemundu, Moroto claimed: "Raila cannot be trusted because he has bee proved to be unpredictable politically."

Additionally, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei noted that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader's choice to work with the government should be nothing short of supporting DP William Ruto 's presidential bid come 2022.

The Senator further condemned ODM's move to oust Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula as Minority Leader.

He also added that NASA leadership should be open to criticism as its a sign of growth democratically.

On Wednesday, Majority Leader of the National Assembly Aden Duale announced that Jubilee Party was ready to form a coalition with ODM in preparation for the 2022 General Election.

However, Duale was quick to dismiss any hopes of having a different person as the Presidential Candidate in 2022.

He asserted: "Our succession agenda is very clear. Our striker is William Samoei Ruto, and we will ensure that he does not get injured until he scores the goal."

Additionally, Duale noted that if any other party joins them, they should be ready to take up a lower position since Jubilee has Ruto for the position.
