How Ruto Rigged Jubilee Party Elections - David Murathe

Former Jubilee Vice-Chair David Murathe, on Tuesday, revealed how DP William Ruto rigged the party elections prior to the 2017 polls.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, Murathe detailed the root of his problems with the DP.

"I have outlined several (issues), it is his attitude and frankly speaking, it started with the Jubilee party nominations," he began.

The politician further explained that there was a group of people behind the chaotic nominations, which was part of the plan to facilitate the rigging.

"The first day, they started by creating some commotion in several parts of the country and we had to recall the results. The first day of the party nominations flopped.

"When we repeated the fresh nominations, all hell broke loose because interested parties rigged out highly popular people particularly in Mount Kenya and Rift Valley regions. They were able to manipulate the nomination results," he outlined.

Murathe argued that the group led by the DP knew that in the strongholds, all one needed was to get the party ticket and ride the Jubilee wave.

He added that contrary to public perception, he did not have a personal problem with Ruto.

"I have a problem with his models of planning. I haven't had an opportunity to sit him down and tell him if he continues down that road, he is on his own so I have had to come out publicly.

"And sometimes you may find he is not the problem, it is the cartel around him that is responsible for alot of this," he stated.

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, who lost to the current County Head Ferdinand Waititu in the Jubilee nominations, took to social media expressing his disappointment in the party organ.

"Murathe confirms they rigged party nominations in 2017. What a shame washing dirty linen in public," he tweeted on Tuesday.
