Selina Actor Kone Nouhoum Dies in Nairobi Hospital's ICU

Popular actor Kone Nouhoum passed away on Thursday while undergoing treatment in Nairobi Hospital's Intensive Care Unit following a 2018 car accident at the Naivasha geothermal site, Nakuru County.

The actor, known for his role as Reagan on Maisha Magic East series, Selina, had been admitted following the crash where he sustained multiple spinal fractures.

Taking to social media, Kenyan media personality Eve D'souza expressed her condolences to the family.

"This is one sad week. Rest in peace Kone, you were one of a kind. My heart goes out to his family and friends," she tweeted.

Kone had undergone several surgeries since the accident with calls for appeal being put out by the acting community.

In 2018, actor Pascal Tokodi made an appeal for a funds drive to cover the medical bill that accrued while the actor was admitted.

“Kone Nouhoum aka Reagan (my big brother) in Selina, was involved in an accident which has left him in a critical state ...he's been in and out of surgery since. But he remains in ICU ward. Let's pray and support him.

“A pay bill number is being processed and shall soon be available for the many of you who love him and would like to stand with during this difficult time. More information will be shared in due time. Thanks a lot and Godspeed,” wrote Tokodi.

The deceased is survived by wife Jennifer Kimwati and one son.

Kone, who had Tanzanian and Malian heritage also starred in This Is Life web series that debuted in 2018, New Beginnings, as well as playing Hakeem in NTV Series Mali.

Earlier on Wednesday, Kenyan musician Chris Kantai passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Kasarani, where he was taken ill two days prior.
