Adema Sangale: Kenya's Youngest Female CEO of a Multinational

Adema Sangale was appointed as Associate Director of External Relations in Proctor and Gamble (P&G) at only age 27.

Sangale, who is now in her mid-30s, is an alumnus of USIU, Oxford University and Havard having started her career in brand management under the Always and Pampers brands in Kenya.

She revealed that she joined P&G through their University graduate program.

Sangale describes herself as a social entrepreneur and a passionate advocate for the girl child.

When she was appointed Managing Director making her the youngest CEO of a multinational in Kenya, Sangale brought to light the predicament most girls undergo when it comes to their menses.

With this, she engineered “the bottom of the pyramid solution” to ensure that no girl has to miss a single day of school as a result of the menstrual cycle.

Nation reports that her exemplary performance has seen her win the Chevening award and also get nominated for the African Leadership Network as a New Generation Leader.

As a student at Harvard, she was lucky to become an Edward S. Mason Fellow.

Sangale is currently also the chairperson of the Harvard Africa Alumni Network and the former chairperson of the Business Women’s Initiative.

Also, she has served as the Chief of Brand Building at the United Nations Environmental Programme.

She has also been the Africa Vice-President for World Bicycle Relief.
