Kanze Dena Explains Deactivation of Uhuru's Social Media

State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena has explained the deactivation of President Uhuru's social media accounts.

Speaking during an interview on Radio Maisha on Monday morning, she stated that Uhuru's accounts were personal and had the right to activate or deactivate them as he wished.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta's Social Media accounts are his personal accounts. He has the right to activate or deactivate them as he wills. He has his reasons, and we respect that" she spoke.

State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita who disclosed that Uhuru's accounts had been compromised has been very active lately about government programs.

She clarified that they both had different roles and hence no conflict of interest.

"There is a difference between Nzioka Waita's role and my role and it is not true that there's any conflict," Kanze explained.

She added that "When it requires him to speak or respond to an issue of public interest then he does so because he too works for the same President and our goal is the same"

Admitting to mishaps that have happened on her watch, she stated that she was concentrating on the future.

"I agree that the communication from my side as the StateHouse Spokesperson has had a setback, and I accept that a mistake was made.

"I am focused and I am going to make things right and share information more frequently with the media and the public" she assured.
