Millie Odhiambo Narrates How Her Husband Won Her Heart

On Friday night, vocal Suba North MP, Millie Odhiambo revealed that she fell in love with her Zimbabwean husband, Magugu Mabona, after seeing him carry a Bible.

The two met online and would later meet for the first time as Magugu swept her away with the simple act.

“Sometimes you win strong people's hearts with the simplest of things. When I saw him, he was carrying a Bible. That, for me, is greater than anything.

“I know it is not the most romantic of things. However, he was good looking too and it is rare to see a good looking man carrying a Bible,” Millie narrated in an interview with Citizen TV.

The outspoken legislator further revealed that being a staunch Christian is one aspect of her life that drives her forward.

Millie, a lawyer by profession, further highlighted the plight barren women face in Kenya, as she herself has been abused and attacked severally for being unable to get a child of her own.

That gave her the idea to help women. She came up with the Assistant Reproductive Technology Bill 2016, that helps people who are not able to sire children in the normal way

“They abused me a lot. You are still important, with or without a child. Having or not having a child does not define you, that’s is why I came up with the bill so as to help barren women get babies easily,” Millie stated.

Millie further gave her thoughts on the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader, Raila Odinga, stating that people have been probing her on why she has been silent, yet she is in the opposition.

“I know a lot of people have raised these concerns asking who is holding the government accountable. For me, so long as the country is on course with good governance and human rights, what are you holding the government accountable for?” Millie stated.

I have been awakened up by the government. Let’s give it a bit of time and see if it is on course. If it happens it is not, then I will be the first to raise the red flag,” she warned.
