Handsome Reward Govt Will Give Top KCPE Pupil

Just a day after Andy Michael Munyiri was announced as the top pupil for the 2019 KCPE examination, the County Government of Nyeri has rewarded him handsomely.

 

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, on November 19, 2019, Nyeri County Communications Director Carol Nderi, confirmed that the cost of his high school education would be taken care of. 

The governor congratulated Munyiri for his success which served to show that with hard work, resilience, focus, family's support and above all God's blessings, one can reach the peak.

Munyiri, who scored 440 marks, was born in Maragima Village, Nyeri County and started his primary school education in Maragima Primary School before moving to Nairobi with his parents and has been studying at Damacrest Academy in Thogoto, Kiambu County.

Speaking to journalists in Nyeri on Monday, November 18, the elated student who would love to join Alliance High School, disclosed that he didn't expect to be the first in the country.

"I wasn't sure what I'd get. I received the results in my grandfather's house in Nyeri and when CS George Magoha mentioned my name I was very excited," he stated.

He thanked his teachers and family for his success in the national examination. 

"I give credit to my teachers because they prepared us for the exams and I thank God. Support from my family encouraged me to continue working hard in class," he added.

Munyiri conveyed his future aspirations, "I'd like to be an automotive engineer dealing in cars especially car engineering."

He further revealed that his parents gave him the motivation for his exemplary performance. 

"They work hard to support the family. I give thanks to both of them, I celebrate them most," he stated.
