Aisha Jumwa Addresses Controversial Post Maligning Uhuru

Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa on Saturday, November 30, addressed a controversial post that was castigating President Uhuru Kenyatta for working with Raila Odinga.

The post, which was put on an account bearing Hon Aisha Jumwa's name on Friday, November 29, appeared to question the president's intelligence in collaborating with Raila.

The sentiments were expressed in poorly worded grammar, "I wonder why president Uhuru Kenyatta he keeps laughing with the snake that beats him twice [sic]."

The post was shared by ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale who captioned it, "English made in Kakuyuni Malindi."

The Vocal MP dismissed the post stating that it was fake urging her supporters to ignore it as it was not from her official accounts.

Prior to the release of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report, Aisha Jumwa castigated the president for what she described as harsh economic times.

Speaking during the funeral service of the brother to Inua Mama Chairperson Alice Wahome on November 20, Jumwa referenced the Black Monday protests held by Mombasa residents to demonstrate against the government. Several protestations have been carried out, against Standard Gauge Railway and Mombasa Port.

"There is no way we shall hear any other language around BBI. One language is that we want money in our pockets.

"In Mombasa, we have a special day planned on Mondays and we call it 'Black Monday'. Our houses are dilapidated, businesses closed, we do not have jobs. Do you think we shall listen to any other language?" Jumwa wondered.

Her relationship with Raila Odinga has also come into question with plans by the ODM party to expel her.

Jumwa further, on Friday, November 1, claimed that ODM leader Raila Odinga did not honour a pre-election agreement that he had signed with leaders from Kilifi County.
