Pulmonology or pneumology is a medical speciality that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract.

The lung specialist is renowned for working with several hospitals as well as treating a number of politicians.

He studied his Masters at the University of Nairobi in 1984.

His death comes a month after Dr. Doreen Lugaliki was laid to rest in July 2020. She was Kenya’s first doctor to succumb to the virus

In early August 2020, a nurse in Homabay also passed away after battling for her life in an Intensive Care Unit.

KMPDU urged the government to continue protecting medics who lead the frontline in the fight against Covid-19.

"The government must roll out the compensation of frontline healthcare workers," the body stated.

As of Thursday, August 13, Kenya recorded 28,754 positive Covid-19 cases, 460 fatalities and 15,100 recoveries.
