TV producer and content creator Alex Chamwada has made a comeback on NTV with his show Daring Abroad.
The award-winning journalist made the announcement on his social media pages on Saturday, October 3.
Daring Abroad will be aired on Saturdays, from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
"Good morning. We at Chams Media have just pressed the reset button. Pepea Nasi (Fly with us," Chamwada stated.
The former KTN and Citizen TV presenter withdrew the show from KTN News in March 2020.
Speaking with Kenyans.co.ke, the celebrated journalist affirmed that he terminated his show which was ranked as one of the most viewed in the country.
Like every other content creator, he shifted his show to his social media platforms.
"You can, however, continue watching the shows and other exclusive, inspiring and informative productions on Chams Media digital platforms including our YouTube channel which you can subscribe to for free," he stated.
His Daring Abroad show was also given life by the resumption of international flights in Kenya. The government allowed the return of both domestic and international flights in August 2020, after they were grounded during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Chamwada, however, detailed that producing content abroad was challenging as he faced lengthy procedures in Western countries.
"Certain things that we do in this country cannot be replicated in the US for example. Data protection laws are tight over there. It is not easy to get someone's contacts and personal details as easily as you can in Kenya," he revealed.
He added that it was much easier working with Kenyans abroad, stating that the cultural influences make it easy to get their contacts and even interviews over the phone, unlike their foreign counterparts.
The content creation space in Kenya has heated up with TV stations competing to have the best shows. Independent creators also have avenues like YouTube where they can compete with established media houses for viewers and advertisers.
