Govt Recruiting Nurses to Work in UK: How to Apply

The government of Kenya has officially opened applications for unemployed nurses, seeking to work in the United Kingdom (UK) following a signed Bilateral Agreement for collaboration on the healthcare workforce on July 29, 2021.

The agreement sealed by the two nations allows Kenyan nurses to be recruited to work in the National Health Service (NHS) of the UK.

Additionally, the agreement allows both Kenya and UK to undertake capacity enhancement of human resources for health with the core purpose of delivering basic and specialised services by promoting knowledge and skills transfer.

The government has tasked the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection with spearheading the implementation of the agreement in terms of overseeing the whole recruitment process and even facilitating the migration of the qualified candidates.

The Ministry of Health has also been given an overseeing role in the whole registration process.

Qualifications

All applicants seeking to work in the UK must possess a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a recognized institution and be registered and licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya.

The applicant must have a valid Police Clearance Certificate and further not be to in a paid employment in the public or private sector in Kenya.

How to Apply 

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection invites interested and eligible candidates to register for consideration into the program

Those seeking the opportunity can now apply through the National Employment  Authority Integrated Management System (NEAIMS) online portal.

On NEAIMS, interested applicants must log in to their portal then head to the Local Active Jobs tab then click on Expression of Interest by Kenyan Nurses For Employment in the United Kingdom of Great Britain, and Northern Ireland.

On the form are various sections where the applicant is expected to fill including Section 1, Section 2, their personal information among others filling all the required fields till the last page.

After filling in all the details, applicants then click submit tab where the application will be forwarded for consideration for the position.

The deadline for registration is 5:00 PM on Friday, August 27, 2021.
