A Grade six pupil from Jola Urabi Primary School touched the hearts of many after he was pictured writing his homework under a security light in Shanzu, Mombasa County.
The pupil, Salim Khamisi, was left with no option other than seek other alternatives to get his homework done because his mother did not have money to buy electricity tokens.
The viral photos were taken just moments to the 10pm curfew by a netizen, Emmanuel Mbaji Mruu, who posted them on his social media pages.

Mbaji narrated that Khamisi's residence had access to power but his mother, who had been jobless for a while, could not afford to pay for it.
"I found this boy doing his homework along a roadside using streets lights... I saw a zeal and a great person in him. Can we help?" Mruu posed.
Well wishers have since come to the aid of the student and donated a number of items including; Solar panel, battery, switches, sockets and an inverter.
Diana Chitsaka Mwangala, a team leader and founder of Gift A Girl Child Initiative created a Paybill where wellwishers contributed with the aim of buying a solar panel and a battery.
Kenyans contributed and were able to raise enough money for the cause. Mwangala visited the family on Friday, September 17, and delivered the items.
"I delivered the solar system to the boys mother. The boy was still at school...Our boy is going to have free lights throughout. He can be able to study at home without any difficulties.
"Thank you my Facebook friends for always standing with me in supporting our vulnerable children," Mwangala wrote on her Facebook page.
