Before her promotion, Sittoni was the Executive Editor, Partnerships and has worked with several media organisations as well as international organizations.

"During the implementation of the newsroom project, Pamela will also have oversight over all print publications to ensure a smooth transition to our workflows. She will continue to oversee the Partnership docket until further notice,” Ageyo stated.

Prior to her rise to the helm of Daily Nation leadership, she had served as managing editor of The East African which is a regional paper for the NMG.

Sittoni also held a similar position at Nation's rival media firm The Standard from 2005 to 2006.

After 2006, she momentarily left the newsroom to work with UNICEF Kenya as a communications specialist before joining NMG in 2012 to work with The East African.

The Value-Added Content is a new section that has been created and Mwinzi who was managing editor of Daily Nation will steer it.

" In this role, he will be charged with coordinating a diverse team of content creators, drawn from all our platforms as an initial step in enhancing cross-platform content synergies,” Ageyo clarified.

Ageyo noted that the new changes are aimed at integrating the company to a digital era.

Sittoni and Mwinzi will be tasked with creating an audience-first integrated newsroom and facilitate transition.

The listed giants seeks to tap in the ever-growing digital space as more audiences transition from traditional media and embracing new media platforms.

The announcement by Ageyo came days after NMG made sweeping changes to its newsroom leadership.

On November 4, Ageyo who previously worked at Citizen TV, was named the Group's Editorial Director, replacing Mutuma Mathiu, who was appointed the Consulting Editor.

The company had clarified that the changes were on an interim basis until April 2023.
