Public Service Commission Announces Over 800 Vacancies in Ministries, State Departments

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has invited Kenyans to apply for over 800 jobs across various ministries, state departments and government agencies.

In a notice published on Tuesday, December 16, PSC announced that it was seeking to recruit individuals under various categories, including entry and promotional levels.

Under the promotional level, the Commission announced vacancies, including a Secretary in the Government Delivery Unit and Economic Planning, a Director of the Foreign Service and an Assistant Director of the Foreign Service.

PSC also seeks to recruit a Chief Engineer, Director of Domestic Trade, Assistant Directors in Investment, Secretary of Youth Development, and Director of Meteorological Services, all under the promotional level.

Other promotional positions include posts as Secretaries of Human Resource Management, Public Sector Reforms, Regional Development, Social Development and Director of Children Services.

These promotional positions range from Civil Service Grade (CSG 4) to CSG 7, with lucrative positions such as secretary, director, deputy director and assistant director in the said roles.

Similarly, the PSC listed entry-level openings for Administration Officer, Human Resource Management Officer, Development Officer and Compliance Audit Officer.

Other roles under this category include jobs as Ethics and Values Officer, Accountant, Internal Auditor, Records Management Officer and a Research Officer.

The Commission also seeks to recruit two Policy Analysts, a Supply Chain Management Officer, an Assistant Public Communication Officer and an Information Communication and Technology (ICT) expert, all of whom are at the entry-level.

Additionally, PSC announced plans to recruit 300 Clerical Officers, 20 Land Information Officers, 55 Lands Records Management Assistants and 150 Office Assistants.

According to PSC Chief Executive Officer, Paul Famba, the details of the posts and mode of application can be accessed on the Commission’s website, publicservice.go.ke

In the notice, the Commission stated that the applications should be sent on or before January 9, 2026, by 5 pm East African Time.

"Beware of fraudsters soliciting bribes from the public while masquerading as Commission staff. PSC does not charge any fee for job applications, shortlisting, interviews or appointments," said Famba.
