Baringo Senator Gideon Moi Accuses DP Ruto of Obsessing Over his Downfall

Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has accused Deputy President William Ruto of plotting his downfall in order not to run for president come 2022.

Speaking in Eldama-Ravine, Baringo county, Moi stated that DP Ruto was obsessed with getting him out of the political limelight.

Moi claimed that Ruto’s mission in the County and the entire Rift Valley region was purely out of his selfish need to gain political mileage.

"The DP simply wants me to vanish in politics so that he succeeds President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022," he said.

"I guess every time Ruto is free with his wife he is ever singing my name Gideon, Gideon, Gideon".

The senator added that Ruto had made trips in the region in a bid to drum up support and align voters against him.

"This is not because he loves the people here but for a simple interest to make me voted out in August," said Moi.

Moi noted that Jubilee was promising residents millions but would fade since they were pegged on getting him out of politics come August 2017.

"Mark it right from me that once you vote me out and replace me with another Senator in August, you will never ever see Ruto stepping his foot here,” warned Moi.

The two arch rivals have been at loggerheads over what pundits claim to be the jostle for who controls the Kalenjin voting block.
