Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Rejects Presidential Aspirant Abduba Dida's Papers

Alliance of Real Change party presidential candidate Mohammed Abduba Dida on Sunday suffered a blow after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) rejected his papers.

According to IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati, Mr Dida had not presented a certified copy of his degree and a self-declaration form signed by a commissioner of oaths at the KICC.

Chebukati gave Dida until 4 pm, Sunday, to certify his paperwork in order to be cleared by the commission for the presidential race.

Dida took the mishap in stride and was however back at the IEBC office shortly after 1 pm after he certified the documents and was issued with a certificate.

Speaking after being presented with the all precious certificate for the August race, Dida stated that he would fight to bring change if elected as president.

"The problem of Kenya is not unga or sugar, Kenyans problems is that Kenya has lost touch with the vision. I have so many lessons for you and my classes have started I will teach you many lessons,

"I thank you for this opportunity and I want to thank all Kenyans,

"My prayers are that August 9th Kenyans will respect you more than they do today. Kenya is a blessed country," said Dida.

He called on the IEBC to make sure that the elections were free and fair.

Earlier on, Third Way Alliance presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot became the first candidate to be cleared after he received a nod from IEBC.

Second in tow was Opposition Chief Raila Odinga who also received clearance from the IEBC together with his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka.

Raila was flanked by other National Super Alliance (NASA) principals and dozens of other leaders
