NASA MPs Hold Prayers Outside Supreme Court

A section of the National Super Alliance (NASA) MPs-elect on Tuesday afternoon camped outside the Supreme Court during the hearing of the ongoing presidential petition.

The legislators who are awaiting their swearing-in which is set for Thursday spent time kneeling down at the premises while praying for a win in the petition.

The MPs were led by among others Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga, Suna East lawmaker Junet Mohamed and his Ugunja counterpart Opiyo Wandayi.

This is despite an indication from the police that they would bar any assembly at the precincts of the court to avoid disrupting the proceedings.

On Sunday, an MP was arrested by when police engaged in running battles with the Coalition supporters who had gathered outside the Court.

Dagoretti North MP-elect Simba Arati was briefly detained after he demanded the removal of barricades outside the Supreme Court where supporters were holding a peaceful public assembly called for by coalition principals.

Moments after being whisked away by police, the Orange Democratic Movement MP pledged to return to Supreme Court.
