President Uhuru Kenyatta Begins 3-Day Tour in Raila's Stronghold

President Uhuru Kenyatta is today expected to hit the campaign trail with a new message for the Bungoma region that overwhelmingly voted for National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga.

In a statement by State House, President Kenyatta will use the visits to thank Kenyan voters for voting in Jubilee leaders in the August 8 elections.

In Bungoma, he is set to make a stop in Kimilili where constituents elected Jubilee's Didmus Wekesa Baraza as their MP.

The President will also convey gratitude to the electorate for maintaining peace after the Supreme Court judgment that annulled his election.

"President Kenyatta will also use the visits to mobilise residents to turn out in large numbers and once again vote for him now that the date for the repeat presidential election has been set," the statement read in part.

Accompanied by his deputy William Ruto, the Jubilee team will also visit Chepareria, West Pokot, before driving to Eldoret, Uasin Gishu.

Friday will see the caravan campaign in Kericho and Nakuru Counties where the President will address rallies at the historic Kapkatet Stadium and in Naivasha respectively.

The final day of the three-day campaign period will see the President conduct rallies in Nairobi.

The President will be facing off with the Opposition leader, Mr Odinga, in a repeat presidential election scheduled for October 17.
