Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu Pleads With President Uhuru Kenyatta's Ukambani Team

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has pleaded with President Uhuru Kenyatta's Ukambani campaign team to consider her invitation to get back to the Opposition.

In a frantic appeal to former Kitui Senator David Musila, Ngilu told Ukambani leaders who had decamped to the Jubilee side that the Government had nothing to offer them.

The former Lands Minister warned Mr Musila that he risked an embarrassing political death if he does not go back to the Wiper Party.

"Let Musila come back to the National Super Alliance (NASA) where he truly belongs.

"As Ukambani leaders we need to back the re-election of our presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka whom we believe are in a position to address the problems of our people," Ngilu declared during a campaign rally on Tuesday.

Mr Musila decamped from the Opposition soon after the August 8 election claiming that the Kamba people were ready to be part of the Government after being out in the political cold for over 10 years.

He later led over 18 NASA politicians from the Ukambani region in backing President Kenyatta's re-election, where he was appointed the President's official Ukambani campaign leader.

Ngilu, who is spearheading NASA campaigns in Ukambani, bashed the Jubilee administration stating that they had not met the primary needs of the people of that region.

"People of Ukambani area do not need the Standard Gauge Railway which they have never ridden on. Our immediate need is the provision of water and food that will ensure our people do not remain perpetual beggars in their own country," she declared.
