Kenyans on Friday debated on various occurrences around the repeat presidential election that was held on Thursday.

Of interest was Chief Justice David Maraga's decision to vote during the October 26 poll after having nullified the August 8 election at the Supreme Court.

CJ Maraga's home county of Nyamira trended on Friday after an alleged tally showed that the polling station where he voted had registered zero votes for Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Under the topic "Nyamira County" various social media users shared the alleged results which indicated that CJ Maraga could have voted for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Form 34A from the polling station later emerged indicating that President Kenyatta garnered 120 votes, Mr Odinga had 7, Dr Ekuru Aukot managed 5 while Joe Nyaga and Abduba Dida each had a single vote from the votes cast at the polling station.

IEBC Data

The topic trended as Kenyans followed the tallying of results for the October 26 presidential poll.

A matter that concerned many commentators is the apparent "too few" spoilt votes that the IEBC had tallied as compared to previous elections.

Media stations also used the trending topic to convey the results as they trickled in.

Nyanza

The topic was among the top trends as more leaders from the religious front as well as politics declared that the rescheduled repeat poll in four of the region's counties would still be boycotted.

The leaders asked IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati to postpone the election yet again while political figures in the region reiterated their stance on "No Elections in October".
