NASA MP Sends Urgent Appeal to Uhuru

Mwingi Central Member of Parliament (MP) Gideon Mulyungi has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to urgently bring the country together.

Dr Mulyungi who is currently facing hate speech charges for having uttered dishonourable remarks against the President has appealed for the Head of State to bridge the gap caused by politics.

"Kenya is divided along ethnic lines following the outcome of the elections. The country is polarized yet Kenya belongs to all of us," the Wiper Party MP observed.

He went on to challenge President Kenyatta to dialogue with National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka on the way forward for the country.

Commenting on the charges brought against him, the politician accused President Kenyatta of targetting him.

"President Kenyatta should focus his energies on rebuilding Kenya and leave me alone. Concentrate your energies on matters of national importance, not Mulyungi," he declared.

The seemingly unapologetic first-time MP further urged NASA supporters to continue waiting for further directions from the coalition leader.

"I urge all of you to wait for communication from NASA on the way forward regarding our political stand and options available in the coming days before another election," he urged.

Fondly known to his constituents as "Tsunami", Dr Mulyungi emphasised that the Opposition would not relent in its pursuit of justice, equity, fairness and good governance in Kenya.

"We did not participate in the process since our presidential candidate had withdrawn after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) failed to meet NASA’s irreducible minimums," the legislator insisted.
