Senator Kajwang Explains His Meeting with Jubilee Leaders

Homabay Senator Moses Otieno Kajwang on Tuesday explained why he met Jubilee Members of Parliament (MPs) on Monday during the Supreme Court proceedings.

The NASA Senator noted that it was a coincidence the Supreme Court ruling came the same day he had a meeting with Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association (KYPA) that involved Jubilee legislators.

"In the course of my Parliamentary duties, I will always find myself in a room with members from Jubilee. This was the case when we had a meeting with young parliamentarians on Monday," he stated.

He made the statement while denying the claims that he is working with Jubilee after photos showing him and other Jubilee MPs watching the ruling together went round on social media.

He was trolled by a section of NASA supporters as being disloyal to NASA leader Raila Odinga.

Nonetheless, the Senator affirmed that he is still part of NRM and would never work with Jubilee.

"How can I work with a junta that has specialized in killing my constituents? Right now I am busy mourning and tending to those who have been killed and injured in the past few weeks.

"I am busy alongside other NRM leaders crafting the next phase in the quest for electoral justice. I am in NRM to stay. The Squealers on social media should find a different fantasy," Kajwang noted.

He clarified that he would work with other parliamentarians adding: "A leader does not run away from people with divergent views."

He watched the proceedings alongside Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja, Samburu West MP Naisula Lesuuda, Senator Beatrice Kwamboka, Nyeri town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu, Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata and many others.
