Moses Kuria Sends 2 Requests to Uhuru and Ruto

Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Kuria on Monday made two requests to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

The Jubilee legislator urged the Kenyatta-led team to put more focus on development in the Mt Kenya region owing to the residents' allegiance and loyalty to the ruling government.

Mr Kuria noted that the area residents had been overwhelmingly supporting and voting for the Jubilee government and deserve to be rewarded.

"Our job has always been voting, waking up and voting, we want to tell them that our job is not to vote only, we also want to be given priority when it comes to development," he noted.

The Gatundu South lawmaker lamented how, when it comes to development, the area leaders are always reminded that those who destroyed property during electioneering period also deserve financial support.

"We gave the jubilee votes, but when it comes to development, we are being told that those who burnt roads also deserve money.

"That is over, from now on, we want those who gave majority votes to be given priority, that is where the development should be taken first," he conveyed.

He also appealed to Mr Kenyatta to give loyal jubilee leaders in the region including former Meru woman representative Florence Kajuju government jobs.

Regarding Former Meru Governor Peter Munya's position in the government, he expressed his confidence that the President will "do the right thing" arguing that he is the one who sought Munya's support during the repeat election.

Tigania East MP Josphat Gichunge, on his part, noted that the community deserves several heads of parastatals, principal secretaries, Cabinet Secretaries and other state jobs.
