Kipchumba Murkomen Declares Support For Raila's Swearing-in

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has on Sunday declared his support for the swearing in of Raila Odinga as the People's President on Jamhuri day.

The Senate Majority leader explained that there was no problem if the former Prime Minister was sworn in by the People's Assembly.

Murkomen argued that it would just be a show that would not give him any powers as the head of state.

He, therefore, opined that the NASA leader should be allowed to proceed with the plan.

According to Mr Murkomen, the swearing-in ceremony, whose venue is yet to be announced, would also signal  the end of the dialogue debate.

He equated Mr Odinga's event with any ceremony where one is sworn in as the President of an association.

"If Tinga is allowed to swear himself into some President of Some club, NGO  or organization what’s the problem? And suppose he purports to be Kenyan President&he is not what harm will it cause?

"Let him be what he wants to be then we end Dialogue debate&he will be satisfied.Period," Murkomen stated on his Twitter page.

Meanwhile, NASA leaders are expected to announce on Sunday afternoon the venue for the swearing-in ceremony slated for Jamhuri day.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the People’s Assembly Organising Committee Jared Maaka Siso stated that the team was considering  swearing-in Kalonzo Musyoka as Deputy President outside the country.
