Moses Kuria Issues 1 Condition to DP Ruto's 2022 Running Mate

Mt Kenya leaders, led by Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria , have issued one condition to Deputy President William Ruto's running mate during the 2022 General Election.

Speaking at a thanksgiving function in Nanyuki town, Mr Kuria, alongside MPs Mohammed Amin (Laikipia East) and Jeremiah Kioni (Ndaragua) warned that any individual seeking to be the deputy President in 2022 would have to be nominated at the ballot.

“As Mt Kenya leaders, we have agreed that Ruto will be our presidential flagbearer, but anyone wishing to deputize him must work hard for it.

“Just like governors, senators, MPs, Woman representatives and MCAs, the DP-to-be will have to be nominated at the ballot, voters will decide," he stated.

The Gatundu South MP also urged the Ruto to work harder and provide to the residents of Mt Kenya region during his final term as the deputy President.

MP Mohammed Amin, on his part, warned that the DP's post would not be given to politicians who campaign based on the fact that they have state jobs.

"This is not the time to step on elected leaders' toes to distract them, so they fail to deliver on what they promised their residents," he indicated.

Ndaragua MP Jeremiah Kioni pointed out that those who are given state jobs by the President should not act superior to the elected leaders.

"State officers must respect elected leaders, they have our support and must deliver to the people,” he conveyed.
