President Uhuru Makes Changes to the National Police Service

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday made major changes to the National Police Service (NPS) sending senior officers for redeployment.

Addressing the nation from State House, President Kenyatta noted that the changes were meant to improve service delivery and efficiency in the service.

The following officers have been redeployed to the Public Service Commission (PSC) for redeployment.

1. Joel Mboya Kitili - outgoing Deputy Inspector General Kenya Police 

2.Samuel Arati - outgoing Deputy Inspector General Administration Police

3. Ndegwa Muhoro - outgoing Directorate of Criminal Investigations Head

The following officers were appointed to replace the above named in an acting capacity.

1. Edward Njoroge Mbugua - appointed to the position of Acting Deputy Inspector General Kenya Police.

2. Noor Yarahao Gabao- Acting Deputy Inspector General Administration Police Service

3. George Kinoti Maingi - appointed to the position of Acting Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss.

The President also named part of his new cabinet retaining six of his current cabinet secretaries.

Kenyatta further announced that the Director of Public Prosecutions, Keriako Tobiko had resigned from his position after being appointed for a CS post.
