Governor Nyong’o Hospitalized In US

Kisumu Governor Professor Anyang’ Nyong’o has revealed that he is currently recovering from a 90-minute surgery he underwent a week ago in the United States.

In a statement seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Governor Nyong’o narrated in detail how the surgery involved eight centimeters cut on his thigh to replace his hipbone with an artificial one.

The Kisumu County boss stated that he was involved in an accident in November 2016 on Kiambu Road while being driven to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Professor Nyong’o remarked that although no one was injured in the accident the car he was traveling in was badly damaged and he proceeded with his journey.

However, governor Nyong’o remarked that he regretted this decision later on during the campaigns in Kisumu.

“One morning, while in Kisumu in February 2017 as the governor campaigns were heating up, I woke up to find that I could not lift my left leg out of the bed,” Governor Nyong’o stated.

After visiting his doctor governor Nyong’o was referred to a popular hospital in Nairobi for consultations with an orthopedic surgeon advised on a hipbone replacement.

He took the surgeon’s advise and he is now recuperating as an outpatient involving nursing care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and weekly visits to the doctor to examine his progress.

Professor Nyong’o further warned his political rivals who have been spreading fake news accusing some of writing his obituary.

The governor who has not been shy to talk about his health can be remembered to have candidly opened up about his battle with prostate cancer which he won.
