Boinett Threatens To Sack Investigators of Limuru Accident

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett has threatened to sack those who handled investigations into the Limuru accident, which led to the death of one person and the fatal injury of another.

The accident along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway occurred after the driver of a red range rover failed to keep to his lane, ramming into a vehicle coming from the opposite direction.

Boinett says that they will face the consequences if a probing into the accident shows that they covered up information on who was involved in the accident.

He had taken to social media saying the person who caused the accident was a Simon Kuria who was test-driving the vehicle, on behalf of Valley Road Motors.

The accident caused a public outcry after witness accounts indicated that the driver of the range rover could have been popular city pastor James Ngang'a.

Simon appeared before a Limuru court on Wednesday but did not take a plea.

Speaking to the media yesterday, Boinett said he had sent a team of senior officers to Tigoni Police station to probe the accident and find out if traffic police had given him false information.
