Youth Storm Gov Nyong'o's Office Over Swearing-in

A group of youth on Monday stormed Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o's office as they demanded certain assuarances over the expected swearing-in of National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga as the People's President on January 30.

With the ceremony to be held at Uhuru Park, Nairobi, the youth demanded 'facilitation' to attend the event.

This came after NASA announced that a million people would be in attendance.

Speaking to KTN News on Monday morning, NASA Chief Executive Norman Magaya stated that there was a team in charge of mobilization, and further divulged that the first group of travellers from outside Nairobi had arrived in the morning.

He stated that more groups were expected to arrive in the city on Monday ahead of the ceremony.

The coalition on Saturday held the final People's Assembly meeting in Homa Bay before the Tuesday event.

They reiterated that, after two false starts, the ceremony would take place as planned because public pressure had become overwhelming.

"We restrained Raila and told him hold on first, in November. We went further, restrained him on 12th, we told him be patient.

"He said I can listen, but momentum is becoming intense," Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi stated.

The coalition has also vowed that the event will be held at Uhuru Park, despite the police declaring that the park is a no-go zone.
