Why Uhuru Can't Arrest Raila - Mutahi Ngunyi

Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has explained why he believes President Uhuru Kenyatta could not dare arrest NASA leader Raila Odinga as the crackdown on the opposition intensifies.

Ngunyi argued that if Raila was arrested, Kenya would burn, but also maintained that the government should arrest the NASA leader who was recently sworn in as the 'People's President'  for causing disruption.

"Kenya will burn if Raila is arrested, however, Kenya will bounce back. Each time Kenya burns because of Raila it bounced back," Ngunyi stated.

"Government should not shy away from arresting Raila. In fact, they should take him to a mental hospital because declaring himself a 'toy' president' of an imaginary people is abnormal," he remarked.

The controversial political analyst further argued that Raila's swearing-in was a plan only by Luo leaders and might have caused Kalonzo Musyoka to skip the swearing-in ceremony.

Mutahi stated: "Maybe he is losing his mind. Maybe that's why his colleagues abandoned him. In my view, Raila's rebellion has nothing to do with the opposition".

He added: "It is a Luo affair period. That is what Mudavadi, Kalonzo and Wetangula told us".

Ngunyi had earlier on warned the President that Raila was planning to do a coup on January 30 and asked Uhuru to withdraw all his security and his colleagues.

He also advised the president to revoke their firearm licenses and have their firearms confiscated.
