Kenya Airforce Jet Crashes Near School

A Kenya Air Force fighter jet has crashed near a school on the Laikipia-Isiolo border, near Lepurua.

No fatalities were reported in the Thursday afternoon accident as the pilot ejected before the crash.

Isiolo County Commissioner George Natembeya confirmed the incident which left Lepurua residents amazed and relieved the jet did not land on them.

In 2016, a Kenya Air Force plane crash-landed in Eldas, Wajir county, but no injuries were reported.

Colonel Paul Njuguna, who was the Military Spokesperson, revealed that circumstances forced the crash landing in Wajir.

Reports had alleged that those who were in the aircraft suffered minor injuries, but Njuduga maintained they carried on with their assignments.

Several civilian and state planes have crashed or crash-landed in several parts of the country, leading to questions on their quality.

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) had assured t Kenyans that conclusive investigations into all cases of faulty air crafts would be carried out.

KCAA's statement followed a crash at Malanga Primary School, Kilifi county, that left a flight instructor and a trainee injured.

In a separate incident, an instructor and a pilot trainee were injured after a light aircraft crashed within Kibiku area, Ngong, Nairobi county.
