Uhuru's Order That Will Silence NASA in Parliament

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday instructed Jubilee Members of Parliament to reject the appointment of two of NASA leader Raila Odinga's preferred nominees to the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).

Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga and Vihiga Senator George Khaniri were nominated by Odinga and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi respectively.

The legislators are to vote for the members of the commission on Thursday.

Speaking to The Star, a Jubilee MP who sought anonymity divulged that the President and his deputy emphasized that the duo should not be elected on the basis of their disrespect to the ruling party.

"It is serious, the President is unhappy with the two who have been in the forefront throwing tantrums at him," added the lawmaker.

Wanga was nominated by her ODM party to serve for the second term as a commissioner at the PSC.

However, her combative politics and vicious attacks on Uhuru's administration could hinder her nomination to the influential position.

According to Lamu East MP Sharif Athman, the Head of State also insisted on rallying troops together to support the Jubilee agenda through legislation and budgetary allocation.

"It was a normal discussion where we agreed to support government policies and work together as a family, " added Mr Athman who attended the party meeting that was not open to the media.

The Jubilee objection notwithstanding, Wanga has also received resistance from within the Orange party.

A section of ODM MPs argued that the slot was initially intended for Kajiado Central MP Elijah Memusi but Wanga bulldozed her way.
