Boni Khalwale Exposes Cracks in Jubilee Party

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has exposed cracks in the Jubilee Party camp.

According to Khalwale, the ruling party has been thriving on tribalism and their conflicting opinions over the dismissal of KNH CEO Lily Koros shows how far they have fallen.

"The CEO for KNH, (a Kalenjin) was sacked by the C/S for Health, (a Kikuyu). Kalenjin MPs are baying for the Kikuyu minister's blood.

"Haha! Jubilee has since 2013 gleefully thrived on its monster of tribalism which has now begun eating her own children," wrote the vocal politician on his Twitter page.

Earlier this week, a section of Members of Parliament vowed to impeach Health CS Sicily Kariuki over her decision to send Koros on compulsory leave pending investigations into a mix-up that saw a brain surgery done on the wrong patient.

The group of 15 legislators, led by Aldai MP Cornelly Serem, announced that they had already collected over 100 signatures in support of the motion.

Serem argued that Kariuki had no powers to direct the KNH board to make that decision.

“She has no legal mandate to fire or even to direct the board to send the CEO on compulsory leave. We are concerned at what is happening at KNH,” he stated during a legislators'seminar in Mombasa.

It appears like MPs from DP William Ruto's camp feel aggrieved by recent actions that have also seen Nandi politician Alfred Keter and his counterpart from Marakwet East counterpart Kangogo Bowen lose their seats.

Last week, the DP urged the politicians to stop sideshows and instead focus on achieving Jubilee's four-point plan.
