Nairobi Floods Catch Many Off Guard, the Reactions Are Hilarious

Nairobians on Thursday morning encountered a hectic time commuting to their daily activities following flooding that was witnessed in most parts of the city.

The city's poor drainage system was exposed yet again as many were left marooned at various points across Nairobi. The Central Business District (CBD) was one of the worst-hit areas with Moi and Kenyatta avenues both flooded.

Businesses boomed with cart pullers helping Nairobians to cross deep puddles for a fee.

Online, Kenyans' creativity was on another level as different memes were posted to explain how some got to work in the rain.

"The only people complaining magari imekwama Ni watu wanaendesha vitz. Watu wa range na v8 walifika job 7...lakini Cha muhimu ni uhai. (Which loosely translates to: The people complaining about their cars being stuck are those driving small cars like Toyota Vitz. People driving Range Rovers and V8 arrived to work at 7. But all in all is that everyone is safe)" one user noted.

A video made rounds on Twitter where a rider was looking for his motorcycle after it was swept away by the rain.

To this, one user stated: "Let's just hope he is looking for the bike, and not the bike plus his customer."
