Gov Wycliffe Oparanya Dismisses Claims of ODM Forming Coalition With Jubilee

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) deputy leader Wycliffe Oparanya on Friday asserted that the party will not form a coalition with Jubilee Party.

Speaking during a presser in Kakamega County by some of the Western leaders, Oparanya stated: "ODM is not entering into a coalition with Jubilee. We are still ODM as a party.

"We are only cooperating with Jubilee so that we have peace and development in the county," affirmed the Kakamega County boss.

He, further, explained that there is no need for the leaders to constantly have conflicts yet their people have problems that they need to address.

However, the Majority Leader of the National Assembly, Aden Duale, on Wednesday announced that Jubilee Party was ready to form a coalition with ODM for the 2022 General Election.

Speaking during a House session, Duale stated that the ruling party was willing to join forces with any group that will want to merge with them.

Kakamega legislators, led by the former Minister, also reiterated their support for the historic pact made between President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga

Mumias East MP, Benjamin Washiali, who was also in the forum, noted that the Western region leaders have resolved to work together following the example of the two principal leaders.

The Chief Whip of the Majority party in the National Assembly added that the unity pact will help better relations between counties.

He urged other politicians to bury their political party differences in order to push the country forward.
