'Tibim' Hitmaker Releases New Uhuru, Raila Song [VIDEO]

Popular artiste Joseph Onyango Ochieng, aka "Engineer" Onyi Jalamo, has released a new song praising President Uhuru Kenyatta's handshake with the NASA supremo Raila Odinga.

The artiste famed for his NASA Tibim song has composed another one title RaiUhuru Tibim.

Speaking to Standard, Onyango stated: “This is a song about peace and unity. I composed it in a hurry because I was very happy with the handshake between President Uhuru and Raila  Odinga.”

He added that his new release was informed by the recent political truce between Raila and the Head of State

In the song, the 33-year old sings about the new-found political unity that has shifted the country's politics.

Unlike the previous NASA anthem that also praised co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, and Moses Wetangula, Onyango mentions Deputy President William Ruto, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and Siaya Senator James Orengo.

Onyango further warns in his song, those opposing the dialogue will face harsh consequences.

He also exclaimed that the political tensions and demonstrations had an adverse economic effect on artistes like him as they had nowhere to stage their shows.

Jalamo divulged that some firms that used to hire their services stopped without notice.

"It has been hectic for us. Some of the companies that used to finance our performances cut them back and stopped,” he noted.

The 10-minute composition is already being shared on online platforms even before its official launch.

Reports claim that the new song will be officially launched during President Kenyatta's visit to Nyanza.
