Otiende Amollo Praises DP Ruto's Conduct After Raila-Uhuru Handshake

Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo has praised DP William Ruto's conduct following the famous handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking during a morning show on NTV, the legislator lauded the DP for embracing the handshake despite not being briefed on the same.

"There are four principals who were not briefed when the two leaders met. One took advantage of the deal while the three (Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Kalonzo Musyoka) have made the mistake of opposing it instead of calling for more inclusivity," he stated.

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale appeared to be reading from a different script as he played down the handshake stating the country will fully settle in 2022.

"This country will settle when, in 2022, Musalia Mudavadi or Moses Masika Wetangula will be elected president," he reiterated.

Last month, the DP insisted the Harambee House pact is not a political stunt but a commitment to peace and development of the country.

Ruto urged other leaders to follow the example set by the two leaders, who had agreed to work together in building national cohesion.

“We are uniting not because of political or selfish interests but because of development that will transform the lives of Kenyans,” he remarked.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Sunday disclosed that the DP was going to be the biggest beneficiary of the partnership between Kenyatta and Odinga.

Speaking during a panel discussion with Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma on Citizen TV's Sunday Live, the Senate Majority leader stated that the Uhuru-Raila pact was an idea whose time had come and the DP was supportive of it.

"The biggest beneficiary of the handshake is William Ruto because he formed ODM with Raila and he is currently working under President Uhuru.

"Having worked with both and shown his support publicly, he stands to gain most in 2022," he explained.
