IEBC

The electoral body became a trending topic on Wednesday as netizens speculated on what could be causing the disagreements between Chairman Wafula Chebukati and the commissioners.

Mr Chebukati and the two remaining commissioners at IEBC - Prof. Abdi Guliye and Boya Molu - allegedly demanded full compensation of their salaries for the remainder of their term should they be ousted from the commission.

On Wednesday, the chairman also snubbed a summon by the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee to appear and explain why CEO Ezra Chiloba was suspended.

According to Majority Leader Aden Duale, Parliament had already kicked off a plan to remove Chebukati and his team as well as the appointment of a new team.
