How Raila Odinga Outsmarted Kalonzo Musyoka to Visit Retired President Daniel Moi

Former Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka is reported to have told Raila Odinga of his plan to visit retired President Daniel Moi but the NASA leader beat him to it.

Makueni Member of Parliament Daniel Maanzo on Wednesday told Kenyans.co.ke that Raila moved ahead and organized the meeting with the retired President before Kalonzo.

"Kalonzo had planned to meet the former President even before Raila. When he (Raila) heard that Kalonzo had organized the meeting he moved fast and went to see Moi," Maanzo stated.

"Raila has the tendency of doing things when he hears that Kalonzo plans to do the same. But we are all in NASA at the end," he added.

Maanzo also noted that the Wiper Party leader was scheduled to visit the retired President next week as opposed to earlier reports which had indicated that Kalonzo would visit the former head of state this week.

The Makueni legislator also stated that Kalonzo will lead a delegation of various leaders to the home of the retired President.

Kalonzo also paid a courtesy call on Nairobi governor who is also a Jubilee politician Mike Sonko at City Hall on Tuesday.

He and Moi have a history stretching to the days he was Mwingi North MP and also as he served as Minister for Foreign Affairs between 1993 and 1998 in the retired President's administration.

The Wiper leader also held the position in President Mwai Kibaki’s administration between 2003 and 2004.
