Former Vice-President Moody Awori, who was included in the list of top state officials retirement scheme, will spend Ksh149 Million of taxpayers money as his pension.
The Treasury disclosed that it included the veteran politician in the scheme following the changes made to the Deputy President and Designated Officers Act.
Mr Awori will also enjoy a monthly pension equal to 80 percent of his last salary, security, medical insurance and a diplomatic passport for him and his spouse.
He will also receive two cars which will be replaced after every four years and fuel allowance equivalent to 15 percent of the sitting Deputy President’s monthly earning.

The state will also provide him with two chauffeurs, a personal assistant, secretary, accountant, two housekeepers, two support staff, two gardeners, two cleaners and armed security.
Mzee Awori, who served as former President Mwai Kibaki's deputy, will join the long list of officials who receive not less than Sh1 Million monthly pension.
The officers who will benefit from the act as noted are the retired Chief Justice and his deputy, retired Prime Minister, retired Deputy President and retired Vice President.
Others include former Senate Speaker Ekwe Ethuro, former National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende and former CJ Willy Mutunga.
According to the Deputy President and Designated State Officers Act of 2016, such officers are entitled to 80 percent of their previous pays and other privileges such as security, medical insurance, cars and diplomatic passports.
The Act also assures each retired president a monthly pay of Sh4.65 Million which is thrice the pay of a sitting Head of State.
Owing to the huge increase in retirement payment margins, this Act has faced sharp criticism from taxpayers.
