Moses Kuria Angered by Memes Depicting Him in Embarrassing Situations

Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Kuria was on Sunday angered by a series of memes that aimed to depict him as a sycophant.

In his Facebook post, the legislator implied that the memes had been generated by members of the Jubilee party, further fueling claims of an anti-deputy president William Ruto campaign within the ruling party.

"I have been in politics for a long time. Long enough to know that people set up secretariats to support a candidate not to fight another.

"Some of my colleagues in Jubilee have set up a secretariat in Runda not to campaign for someone but to fight someone," Kuria's post read in part.

Mr Kuria went on to condemn the apparent attacks on his political standing using a Kikuyu slur loosely translated to state: "That is stupidity. It is a complete waste of time and very childish."

He added: "How do you run a secretariat for drawing cartoons? Don't you have anything better to do?"

The MP's post was greeted with further gall from commentators who condemned him for siding with DP Ruto.

Jay Kegoncjiri posted: "We the Mt Kenya voters voted for Jubilee because of Uhuru. Rift valley voters voted for Jubilee because of Ruto.

"We paid our debts twice, 2013 and 2017 by making Ruto deputy president twice! Telling us to pay again in 2022, is overcharging us. Surely!" he exclaimed.

A second meme shared by one of the MP's followers depicted him alongside Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa and Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua giving a massage to another cartoon character wearing a trademark cap mostly won by DP Ruto.
