Kalonzo Musyoka Plans for Raila Odinga Rejected by ODM Party

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has addressed Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka's commitment to keeping the opposition focussed.

Kalonzo had on Tuesday met Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula to signal hope that they were holding together as NASA co-principals.

The meeting held at the Wiper Party offices in Karen was deemed as part of the mediation efforts seeking to reconcile the Ford Kenya leader with ODM's Raila Odinga.

This is after Senator Wetangula announced that the political ties between him and Mr Odinga were all done and dusted.

Wetangula further went ahead and declared that he was now at the helm of the opposition affairs saying the other leaders had been captured by their competitors.

It is the new development that has rattled the ODM party.

ODM party national Chairman John Mbadi has stated that the attempts by Kalonzo to unite Wetangula and Raila were altogether unnecessary.

"There is nothing like reconciling. You are reconciling who and who? I do not see any issue here, and since we have not registered any dispute between us and Ford Kenya, what then," wondered Mbadi.

He made the remarks shortly after Wetangula and Kalonzo emerged from the meeting in Karen, with the Wiper leader indicating he would spare effort to keep "his brothers in good talking terms for the prosperity and peace of the nation."

The ODM party political affairs director Opiyo Wandayi, on the other hand, welcomed the move by Wetangula.

Wandayi told  Daily Nation  that no one had chased Senator Wetangula away from NASA, stating that the senator was free to "retrace his steps."
