Senator Wetangula Meets Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka in Karen

A move by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetamgula has ignited some hope that the opposition outfit NASA is still alive and kicking.

The Bungoma Senator and Musyoka on Tuesday met at the Wiper Party Karen offices where they affirmed that they still share in the opposition agenda.

The meeting came barely three days away from the Wiper Party's declaration to work with the ruling party, Jubilee.

During the weekend, Kalonzo had offered to mediate between Senator Wetangula and ODM leader Raila Odinga, and it has now emerged the NASA co-principals are connected.

The Senator had earlier declared that he was now the official opposition leader after what he termed as Jubilee having "captured some fighters" in the opposition.

During the visit, Wetangula wrote in the visitors' book that "Ford Kenya and Wiper share similar ideas for the future of this great country. We (the two parties) remain committed and connected."

This is despite the fact that Kalonzo had made it clear that he has now resolved to back president Uhuru's development agenda, signaling his support for the Head of State's war on graft.

Even as details of a possible formation of a unity government remain scanty, President Kenyatta reportedly held a closed-door meeting with Odinga in Kilifi and asked him to deliberate on proceeds of their Thursday night engagement with the other principals.

On Sunday, Deputy President William Ruto welcomed the Wiper leader's decision to work with Jubilee government but insisted some leaders were luckily awarded posts in Government.
