Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Sunday divulged that one of his cabinet members had been admitted to Nairobi hospital.
Through his social media, the County boss stated that he visited his CECM for Devolution Vesca Kagongo who was recuperating in the medical facility.
"I visited my CECM for Devolution Vesca Kagongo who's also unwell and is admitted at the Nairobi hospital. On behalf of the entire Nairobi county staff and the executive, we wish Waziri Veska a quick recovery," he conveyed.
Here are photos from the visit:
Earlier in the day, Sonko had made an impromptu visit to Mbagathi District Hospital.
The health facility is one of the four hospitals that will have trauma centres set up in the 2018/2019 financial year. Others are Mama Lucy Kibaki, Pumwani and Mutuini hospital.
"I’m happy that supply of drugs to County hospitals will resume after my administration settled part of the pending bills owed to KEMSA," he wrote on Facebook.
He vowed to make a spontaneous visit to Mama Lucy in the course of the week.
Earlier in August, Sonko made a surprise visit to Kangemi Health Center where he did a spot check in the maternity ward of the facility.
The County Head asked the county officials to answer as to why the mothers were made to pay for health services which were meant to be free in county facilities.
The situation irked Sonko to a point where he suspended Health Executive Member Hitam Majevda and County Health Director Thomas Ogaro over laxity.
