Lavish Lifestyle of MP Patrick Musimba Involved in Ksh 1.15 Billion Scandal

Very little is known about the opulent life of Kibwezi West MP Patrick Mweu Musimba who is engulfed in a Ksh 1.15 billion scandal.

Interestingly, the MP shuns the national limelight and is known to keep away from the media.

Locally, he hardly addresses public meetings in Kamba and is not shy from showing off his flamboyance.

At the peak of campaigns for the 2017 General Election, the legislator hosted a lavish birthday party at Villa Rosa Kempinski that left tongues wagging.

The party was attended by who is who in the business and political circles including dozens of fellow MPs.

According to a report by Daily Nation, guests were showered with electronic gifts including TV sets, mobile phones and tablets.

An MP present at the party intimated to the publication that no explanation was offered for the philanthropic gesture leaving them with many unanswered questions.

In his home county of Makueni, MCAs, head teachers and opinion leaders have benefited from his several sponsored trips to various foreign destinations.

In April 2014, he was the talk of town when he sponsored a 5-day trip to Malaysia for members of Makueni County Assembly.

Reports further indicate that his family often flies to Kibwezi in hired choppers.

While touring the constituency, he is chauffeured around only by drivers of European or Asian descent.

His lavish lifestyle was, however, cut short on September 17 after he was arrested alongside his wife Angela Mwende for being involved in Ksh 1.15 billion Chase Bank scandal.

They were remanded for four days and later released on a Ksh 5 million cash bail.
