Uhuru's 45-member Delivery Unit Team Unveiled

A team of 45 personnel, comprising of journalists and former politicians, has officially been installed to work on President Uhuru Kenyatta's legacy projects.

On Wednesday, the team was engaged in an induction process at the Kenya School of Government as they pick up their roles at the Presidential Delivery Unit, working closely with the State House Spokesperson's office.

The Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, Nzioka Waita, stated that the team will also work alongside various state departments from inception.

"It’s a delivery team whose main purpose is to track and report on progress of the Administration’s key projects and programs as well as coordinate dissemination of public information on the status of those key projects,” indicated Nzioka.

PDU will have media personalities as Nixon Ng’ang’a who until his appointment was the Royal Media Services Managing Editor, Mumbi Warui (ex-Citizen TV Business reporter) and Laban Cliff Onserio who was picked from the NTV business newsdesk.

Other staff are Patrick Ngatia, who has been moved from the NEMA Board, politician Silvanus Onyango, who was the Kasipul Kapondo MP, Michael Rotich (former Bomet aspirant) and Boniface Kinoti (former Buuri MP) among others.

Part of the tasks to be executed by PDU is working with County Commissioners to track the implementation of President Uhuru's Big 4 agenda initiatives.

The other staff at the unit joined in 2015 alongside Andrew Wakahiu, Lee Kyonze, Eliud Lelerai, Nyamu Githaka and Cindy Kuria who are directors in the presidency overseeing various sectors of the economy.

PDU reports to the Chief of Staff and Head of the President’s Delivery Unit, Waita.
