Susan Mboya Files Suit Against EACC, Denies Being Evans Kidero’s Property

Former Governor Evans Kidero’s wife Susan Mboya has moved to court to detest her treatment as “Kidero’s property”.

In an affidavit, Mboya claimed that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), during their investigation on Kidero’s source of wealth, treated her like she was an extension of the property.

She further added that before her marriage to the former governor, she had her own property which she had acquired separately.

“The commission has treated me as though I am an appendage, extension of a property to Kidero yet I am a separate legal entity and person entitled to own property without attachment to Kidero,” read the affidavit.

She claimed that the commission invaded her privacy seizing her crucial documents for the sole reason of being the wife to Kidero.

The documents seized included her personal income records, ongoing transactions, investment mortgage documents and her will.

“These documents and items are of a very personal and confidential nature and it is very prejudicial to me that the same were seized and continue being held by the commission notwithstanding the order for their immediate release to me,” she remarked.

In early November however, a high court judge had commanded the EACC to release any seized documents belonging to Kidero that were not a part of the ongoing case.

Those belonging to Mboya were however not handed over and the former governor also claimed that those given back to him were of much less significance to the case.

58 properties were seized during the September raid of the former governor’s wealth. He how wants the court to intervene and have them released.
