Postmortem Reveals How Mildred Odira Was Murdered

Initial postmortem results of slain switchboard operator at Nation Centre, Mildred Odira, were released on Tuesday revealing crucial information over the cause of her death.

The report that was presented to the family of the deceased at City Mortuary showed that Odira died from an injury inflicted by a blunt object that left a two-centimetre hole in her forehead.

The 32-year-old mother of one may have been killed elsewhere before her body was dumped near GSU roundabout at Allsops along Thika Road.

Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo revealed details of the report stating that Odira had several injuries on her torso.

“The cause of death was the injury on the forehead, it looks like she was hit by a hammer and after she was dead then placed on the road for vehicles to run over her.

"The autopsy also showed that the injuries on her limbs occurred after she was run over by a car and not knocked down,” the MP told journalists.

Samples were taken from the deceased nails and private parts to establish whether she was raped before being killed.

She was last seen by security guards in Kariobangi South, her residence, at around 4am on January 29.

The security guards hailed a taxi to take her to hospital on the said morning.

Odira was unwell since she had been recently diagnosed with diabetes, hypertension, and ulcers.

When questioned, the taxi driver indicated that he had dropped her off at Ruaraka Uhai Neema Hospital and left after about 20 minutes.
