ODM MP Mocks Uhuru's 'Old' Appointees to his Face [VIDEO]

Likoni Member of Parliament Mishi Mboko on Friday, October 18, mockingly asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to consider giving jobs to 'ageing' leaders in Mombasa.

Mboko took the jibe at the president while addressing the crowd that had gathered to witness the groundbreaking ceremony for the establishment of Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone in Mombasa County presided over by Uhuru.

"Mheshimiwa Uhuru wakati unapopeana zile kazi ujue pia huku tuna wale wazee wetu, kuna mheshimiwa Mwahima ambaye tulipigana naye, mheshimiwa Shakombo ambaye tulipigana naye. Lakini hata wakiwekwa mahali wajiskie kama wao wako ndani ya serikali"

(When you are giving out jobs please remember that we also have old people too. We have Mwahima [Masoud] and Shakombo [Suleiman] whom we competed with. Please give positions so that they feel like they belong in your government)" Mboko urged.

Mwahima was the Likoni constituency legislator from 2008-2017 when he was replaced by current MP Mishi Mboko who beat Shakombo in the 2017 general election.

Uhuru Kenyatta had been under fire when after former Othaya MP Mary Wambui was appointed the chairperson of the National Employment Authority (NEA).

Wambui was appointed to the position in a gazette notice by National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani.

The appointment angered many Kenyans with the youth condemning the president for showing a consistent preference for 'old' people in his latest appointments.

Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja would later announce that he had requested the former MP to turn down the job she had been given failure to which he would file a petition to have her removed.
