Puzzle as KDF Soldier Found Dead in Apartment

The body of a KDF officer was found in his house on Monday, December 17, after neighbours alerted the police to a foul stench emanating from his house.

According to Likoni OCPD Jane Munywoki, the soldier (Abraham Kipchirchir) had been missing from work since Saturday, December 14.

His fellow officers claimed to have tried to inquire about his whereabouts but his phone was switched off.

The police were left puzzled as to the cause of his death, with initial reports claiming that his body was found with no physical injuries.

“We cannot rule on the course of his death with a pending autopsy, but we established that the deceased had a medical history and had sought treatment at the Navy dispensary,” officer Munywoki.

The deceased reportedly left Mtongwe Navy Base on Saturday and headed to his rental house in the Mtongwe area, only to be discovered dead in his abode.

Officer Munywoki revealed that medical records showed that the late Kipchirchir was under medication for an unspecified ailment.

His body was ferried to Jocham hospital mortuary, with investigators confirming that they would examine it in a bid to establish the cause of death.

The latest incident comes just a week after a 55-year-old Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer was found dead with his body hanging from a rope tied to the rafters of his neighbour’s house at Kapkiamo Village in Baringo County.

Kimosop Chepkwony allegedly committed suicide after realizing that his wife was cheating on him with their married neighbour.
